With a pandemic of colossal proportions looming, most of us have been forced to shut ourselves indoors. To be honest, this is not the best of experiences given our normal and outgoing nature.(A few months ago I would have given my right arm and left leg so as to sleep for 10 hours a day but after all this while I hate my bed already). Staying indoors has made me learn a lot of new things; most of which I had taken for granted.
There is a lot of uncertainty right now. When will this pandemic be over? Will we go back to our normal lives anytime soon? However, one thing is for certain. We have a lot of time on our hands. Since the lock down was imposed about three months ago, I had convinced myself that this was short-term and it would be over in a matter of weeks. Nevertheless, it is become obvious that this situation is going to remain constant for a while and even when normalcy returns, things will not be the same as they were before the disease.
Most of us have been forced to abort our school terms or have been laid off from work. In other terms, we have been forced to sit locked up in our houses with almost nothing to do for an uncertain period of time. For those who love movies, this seems like a golden opportunity to catch up on all those episodes missed. However, I feel that it would be much more interesting to indulge ourselves into doing things we have never done before and explore that which we feel hidden within us. That guitar that you started learning but was overwhelmed, now might be the perfect time to continue where you left off.(By the way if you are beginner, start by learning scales above everything else. You will need them, Trust me). Maybe, you have always been interested in opening a Youtube channel but lacked the time to do so. Go ahead, people are stuck on their couches staring at their phones and computers looking for the next thing to entertain them.

Furthermore, this is also the time for one to relax themselves. Maybe, before this pandemic, things were coming at you fast and furious. The workload at your place of work was overwhelming or you had a hard time catching up in class. Now is the time to take a break and retrace your steps back to the genesis of all your problems. A step by step approach is the way to go, taking time on things which you felt were hard, tough or overwhelming and finding a conclusive solution to them.
All in all, this is the time for experimentation and for trial and error. Being locked up is not reason enough for one to lay back. Quite the contrary, it the time to find answers and solutions. Whenever you do something new or succeed in solving a lingering problem, you are bound to benefit yourself and thus improve upon the person you are.
